Cliff River Springs is located in North Central New Mexico on Mountain Time. Our physical address is 283 State Highway 111, south of the village of La Madera and just a few miles NW of Ojo Caliente. The closest airports to us are Albuquerque’s International Sunport (2 hours south) and Santa Fe’s Municipal airport (1 hour south). There are rental car facilities at both airports. If you’re coming to the land and don’t intend to venture off it, or perhaps are meeting someone here who can’t pick you up, you can arrange for private ride service with Road Runner Shuttle & Charter (505-424-3367).
What you seek is seeking you. – Rumi
Situated just north of Ojo Caliente and east of El Rito, Cliff River Springs is easily accessed from both US 84 and US 285, two well-traveled north/south US highways. Cell service is spotty or non-existent here, and we don’t recommend relying on an online mapping service for directions once you’re underway. Our best advice is to focus on charting your approach before you leave home.
Once your reservation is confirmed, and you let us know which direction you’ll be arriving from, we can email specific instructions to our gate. You can also enter your departure point in Google Maps (our GPS coordinates have been pre-entered) and click “Get Directions” to get point-to-point driving directions and times.
If you come in by way of US 285, go exactly 2.8 miles to our sign and gate after turning from 285 onto State Highway 111. Coming from US 84, take State Highway 554 (the turn is south of Abiquiú) to El Rito and keep going (about 20 miles) through the village of El Rito until 554 dead ends into 111. Turn right and go a very short distance until you see our sign and gate on your right.
Drive defensively. Arrive in daylight. And don’t forget to shop for food on the way to us.
