Each casita comes equipped with a full kitchen, private bathroom, comfortable king, queen or twin beds, with sunlight streaming through the windows. While the swimming pond and countless trails are a stone's throw away, your casita is your haven. Come relax and unwind.

The Pond
While staying at Cliff River Springs, guests can indulge in the desert’s most valuable gift: water. Our spring fed natural swimming pond carries the wariest of travelers through its crystalline jade waters, cooling and healing. This acre wide splendor will take your breath away, while dragonflies dance on the water and bullfrogs sing as the sun sets.
Wood House
King Bed, 310 square feet, 1-2 Guests
Weekday: $200/night - Weekend: $225/night
This private, stand-alone casita features a living room/bedroom great room with a splendid king bed. French doors open off the living area onto a spacious and private south-facing deck; the perfect spot for reading a book and drinking a glass of tea in the warm sun. Enjoy views of the distant Sangre de Cristo Mountains by day and a spectacular array of stars by night.

Upper Stream
King Bed, 550 square feet, 1-2 Guests
Weekday: $215/night - Weekend: $235/night
Upper Stream is the self-enclosed top floor of free-standing Stream House, named for the spring-fed stream, or acequia, running along its north side. The musical sound of flowing water is a true gift here in the high desert. This casita's unique features include the living area's gas fireplace, warm wood paneling and oak flooring, and the master bedroom's peaked dormer ceiling. Upper Stream is also the only one of Cliff River Springs' casitas to have an air conditioner. (Our other units stay naturally cool by virtue of their adobe construction.) Finally, while Upper Stream has its own entrance/exit by way of an exterior deck and staircase, it has the added option of connecting via an interior staircase to the two-bedroom Lower Stream casita below. This means up to 6 friends, family members, or coworkers can share Stream House upstairs and down while also enjoying complete privacy and independence. For guests not traveling together, a locking pocket door at the bottom of the inside staircase provides complete privacy and security.

Lower Stream
Two Bedrooms, 550 square feet, 1-4 Guests
Weekday: $200/night - Weekend: $225/night
Lower Stream is the two-bedroom first floor of Stream House. The sound of flowing water from a nearby stream (acequia) can be heard through its open windows. Kept nice and cool during the day by adobe walls, Lower Stream sleeps four in comfort. A gas fire place provides cozy warmth, taking the chill off spring mornings and fall evenings. Guests appreciate the convenience of having porcelain enameled sinks dating to the 1890's in their bedrooms. Enter this casita through double glass doors that open onto a mature perennial garden and private outdoor sitting area. The option of connecting via an interior staircase to the one-bedroom Upper Stream casita above provides flexibility for parties traveling together. Up to 6 friends, family members, or co-workers can share both floors of Stream House while enjoying privacy and independence. For guests not traveling together, a locking pocket door at the bottom of the inside staircase provides privacy and security.

Plaza House

Named for its location on the common plaza, this stand-alone, light-filled casita is spacious and comfortable. The bedroom has double glass doors that can be opened to let in the gentle sounds of a spring-fed stream. A step up and a high half wall separate the living / dining area from the bedroom...a convenience night owls and early risers will appreciate. Plaza House has a deep tub for those who crave a long soak at the end of the day. A gas fire place provides cheering warmth on cool fall evening and early spring mornings.

Cliff West

Cliff West, the sun-drenched western unit of Cliff House, is the ideal casita for friends or solo travelers. From the beautiful northern window looking out at an ancient cottonwood, the sounds of the acequia babbling by lull guests to sleep. This casita is great for those looking to take on the trails and swim in the pond; guests looking for adventure. A highlight of Cliff West is the private second story balcony with stunning view of the La Madera range and the distant Sangre de Cristo mountains. Cliff House can be rented as one unit (Cliff East, Mid, and West) for larger parties traveling together, or separately for complete privacy and freedom.

Cliff Mid, the middle unit of the ranch-style Cliff House, is the perfect casita for travelers looking to cool off from the summer heat. The southern facing patio looks out on a native garden of yucca and cholla, where Great Northern Flickers can be seen. This casita can connect to Cliff East and West for guests traveling together. A solid door with locks on both sides allows for complete privacy for solo travelers. This casita's spacious living area is perfect for writers, readers, and artists.

Located on the east end of Cliff House, Cliff East's windows on three sides allow for plenty of light. This is the casita for guests who love the sunrise. Wheelchair accessible, Cliff East has a large bathroom, colorful cozy living area and queen-sized bed. A deeply shaded porch with chairs and south-facing views is right outside the front door. Cliff House can be rented as one unit (Cliff East, Mid, and West) for larger parties traveling together, or separately for complete privacy and freedom.
