Our Story
This land has been in our family for four generations. In 1960, the great-grandparents (1st generation) of our family purchased this ranch so that their daughter, Joan, could run cattle. In the time and generations since, we have come together on this land in hardship, for memorials and the pandemic, and for tremendous love and joy, weddings and reunions. Our summers have been spent getting sunburned at the pond and our winters gathered around fires. This land has tied our family together throughout the years.
In 2012, the granddaughter (3rd generation), Hope, opened Cliff River Springs in order to share the magic and beauty of this land. She transformed the rugged outbuildings into the stunning casitas we have now and spent day after day tending to the gardens and ponds. Every guest was greeted by her big smile and left saying, “You’ve really thought of everything.”
When Hope decided to retire and close Cliff River Springs, the great-granddaughter (4th generation), Pearl, and Pearl’s partner, Sage, knew the importance of what she created and that it must live on. In 2026, Pearl and Sage moved to the ranch to steward this home into a new chapter.
It is with immense gratitude toward this land and its history, our families, and the work Hope did, that we re-open Cliff River Springs and hope that we can think of everything, so you don’t have to.
